INTERVIEW WITH IAIN LEE - AS FOUND AT LBC.CO.UK
Where do you live and why?
In north London. Because my flat
is there. ·
Where do you go when you want to get out of town?
I visit the beautiful and historic area known as the Slough Trading Estate. The aroma of Mars bars being made fills
the air and it brings back fond memories of getting beaten up. ·
What do you miss most when youre out of London?
I miss the noise and my friends. ·
What’s your earliest London Memory?
3am ·
What’s your favourite London hang out?
Easy that one, I love Banners in Crouch End. I once saw Baby Spice girl Emma there. She’s fitter in real life
than on her records. She didn’t talk to me though, despite me following her for an hour. ·
How do you get around town?
I’m a big fan of buses now, although I recently had a row with the driver of a W7 who got angry because I didn’t
have a ticket before I got on. When I explained it was a temporary bus stop so I couldn’t get one, it kind of kicked
off. But in answer to the question, buses.
Who or what is in your secret address book?
I don’t have any address book, secret or otherwise. I use the yellow pages for stuff. You can get builders, mechanics
and osteopaths. It’s a great read. I’m nearly three quarters of the way through it. ·
What would you do if you were London mayor for a day?
I would make it law that cabbies could only speak if they were spoken to and they wouldn’t be allowed to get
mardy if you didn’t give a tip or asked for a receipt. ·
Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever interviewed?
Obviously Gene Simmons from KISS. The man is a legend. Also, everyone from Coronation Street is really nice and everyone
Ive spoken to from Eastenders is a bit above their station. I had a row with Liberty X once.
Who would be your dream interview and what would you ask them?
Ringo Starr and I’d ask if The Beatles were ever going to get back together

Iain Lee is a stand up comedian, TV presenter and all round tall man. He started off his career in radio by phoning
up Clive Bull and trying to be funny. Sometimes it worked. More often than not, it was a bit rubbish. He has presented Channel
4’s thrice weekly rude comedy programme, The 11 O’Clock Show, where every night he would go out on the street
and interview people about their views on cloning Princess Diana and other such bizarre subjects. He has most recently presented
Ch.4’s breakfast show Rise (the revamped version, where it got good) and destroyed Jim Bowen on The Weakest Link. He
loves gadgets, The Beach Boys and rock legends KISS. He once tried to learn Japanese, but when LBC called him to cover for
someone, he had to knock it on the head. Let’s hope he is never needed in a Japanese translation emergency that could
save the world, or we’ll all be stuffed. He has dark hair, blue eyes and two hands.
